About Us

Los Angeles Tamil School (LATS) is a public charity with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Our vision is to promote Tamil language and culture among our younger generation. We started this not-for-profit organization in 2011.

LATS Objectives:

• Create a kid-friendly environment for students to learn Tamil

• Teaching more than just letters and sounds

• Progressive speaking, reading, and writing

• Ensure kids achieve small successes every week and ensure that parents are aware of their children’s progress in reading, writing, and conversing in Tamil.

• Motivate and Enable children to speak fluently and confidently in Tamil with their family, and peers and in a public forum with no inhibition

• Learn Tamil culture along with the language in a secular and non-political environment

• "Commitment to Excellence" in teaching Tamil

• Ensure that knowledge passes on to successive generations
